Sustainability Principles

We aim to build all of our homes to the minimum standard of Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. This is the standard that the government is targeting for 2013 and it represents a 44% reduction in CO2 compared to current regulations and a 50% reduction in water usage in a typical home. A number of our new homes are being built to Zero Carbon Code Level 6.

We have been building low carbon homes for many years and we fully understand the physics of sustainable development. We have considerable experience of incorporating renewable technologies into our homes.

ZeroC’s sister company, Ecofirst (www.ecofirst.net), supplies and installs renewable technologies throughout the United Kingdom. These technologies include solar water heating, solar photovoltaics, rainwater harvesting, biomass boilers, heat recovery ventilation, and heat pumps.

Our own in house consultancy, Ecofirst Consult (www.ecofirstconsult.co.uk), advises house builders and home owners on how to make their homes more sustainable. We have our own Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM assessors.
